right guys the car was driving very nicely but then engine light came on and then engine went off .
then i started the car up. and then as soon as i take my foot off the gas the engine goes off ??????????
whats wrong with the car i havent got a clue?????????

Did you check for fault codes? (sorry to ask the obvious)

no mate all that happned a bit ago

 

Depends what model you have, search on here, loads of threads about how to check codes.

Could be a number of things, knacked idle control valve or MAF for starters, of maybe just something simple like a plug loose.

If CEL came on there is a pretty good chance it's easily diagnosed.

Seriously, MAF has broken, or ICSV hose has popped off, or it's more serious.
