Question Infrared laptimers/timing equipment

Anyone who can recommend an affordable laptimer solution? I've checked Tag Heuer Timing equipment , but just a single infrared sender is a whopping £300 (HL2-35).

My local Impreza club in Norway arrange autocross sessions etc, where the start and finish line is at the same point. Currently, we use stopwatches - but to our members the battle for positions is so important that even 1/100 of a second matters. Getting rid of the stopwatches, pen and paper would also make it less time consuming, as well as improving the accuracy.

I need an infrared sender, receiver and a time recorder/logger. The recorder can be a portable computer, but a dedicated small portable unit would be better.

Anyone? Links?
