Default ECU's

Would there be any problems fitting a V7,6D,7D or 7K ECU to my classic wagon.

If it's a Pre96 WRX Wagon then yes there would be problems, as the WRX runs a different turbo and lower boost pressure.

If it's a Pre96 UK then everything but the 7K, as that's from an STi and will run too lean and too advanced.
If your going to chip it, then all would be suitable as long as you run only the chip and don't switch between standard and chip on the 7K

It's a my94 WRX Wagon,

Which ECU should I go for, with the aim to chipping ???

Current spec - J&R panel filter with full decat.

Cheers Simon, Will I need to solder a chip into my ECU or will it have a cradle to go into?

You'll have to remove the cover to check..

Scott may know from the number whether they have one fitted or not.. assuming there is some logic in the addition of the socket.

I do believe Scott does a TD04 map which would suit.

Socket would need to be soldered into the spare location.
I map WRX Wagons to run approx 14.5psi. Standard is 10psi but it drops down to 6.8psi.

It's a different map to the saloons, due to the turbo.

So with a full decat, high flow panel filter and the chip, I should be looking
at a healthy gain, yes.

Would around 260/270bhp be about right??

Sounds about right
255bhp - 260BHP without decat would be a good guess. 265-270 with full decat.
