Default Main Bearing Choice

Currently building up a new engine - aiming for around 450 x 450.

as part of this build I'm looking as fitting a Sti crank in a CDB (after the necessary machining work has been completed) but am wondering about main bearings.

I want reliable power out of this build and so far have dicovered 3 main opitions.

1) OEM subaru bearings.
2) ACL bearings.
3) Power Enterprise F1 Black Metal bearings.

Can anyone out there with a similar or higher rated output engine advise me as to which way to jump on this?

Opinions as always will vary, so this is the opinion of my engine builder. ACL race bearings.
Also in an EJ20 cdb

Cheers chaps - will likely give ACL a go.

Is there not just the one type of ACL bearing available anyway - that being race series??

Don't take this as gospel, you can still buy ACL (ordinary) and ACL "race" what the difference is, if any, I don't know. Whether "race" have replaced "ordinary" I would like to know, also.

ACL have introduced a "Race Series" range of bearings.

They are an up rated version, of ACL's up rated version, and have a different structure, and bearing surface. They say they are a stronger bearing.

Supply has been very slow, but they are available now.

Mark.

Personally, I would stick with the latest O/E Subaru bearings.
