Main Bearing Choice
Currently building up a new engine - aiming for around 450 x 450.
as part of this build I'm looking as fitting a Sti crank in a CDB (after the necessary machining work has been completed) but am wondering about main bearings.
I want reliable power out of this build and so far have dicovered 3 main opitions.
1) OEM subaru bearings.
2) ACL bearings.
3) Power Enterprise F1 Black Metal bearings.
Can anyone out there with a similar or higher rated output engine advise me as to which way to jump on this?

Is there not just the one type of ACL bearing available anyway - that being race series??

ACL have introduced a "Race Series" range of bearings.
They are an up rated version, of ACL's up rated version, and have a different structure, and bearing surface. They say they are a stronger bearing.
Supply has been very slow, but they are available now.
Mark.
