Question Help !! Car hesitating @ 3k revs on MY00

It was originally hesitating but had no ecu faults.

I replaced the MAF with a known working MAF and it seemed to work for the first mile of driving.

It then returned to hesitating again!!

Is there anything else it could be??

Note : i put my old MAF back on to test it and the ECU immediatly through up the CEL.

I presume this is because it was working under the new MAF and leaned under the new MAF it then realised the old MAF was now broke.

Does this sound correct?

Kev

can be a cause of bad idle. But so can a lot of things..

Could you describe the "hesitation" further please.

Its hard to understand without detail. Speed revs etc!

I mean how is the car hestitant?

Is it like a "stutter". This could be a missfire or an over boost.

Is it poor response. The list is endless.

could be an overboost. When your driving does the car seem to "missfire" as you acclerate. Not sure what you mean by stuttering between revs?
does the car rev well when stood it wont boost if your stood if its ignition this might help?

Ok i didnt describe the blipping throttle and just your description in the forums is hard to diagnose.
here is how the wastegate solenoid works. The solenoid is either on or off (i believe) the solenoid is connected to the actuator for the turbo wastegate.
If the wastegate is fully open there is no boost, If its fully shut there is full boost. because the solenoid is either open or shut, to get a level in the middle the ECU pulses the wastegate solenoid. basicly it turns it on and off very fast. when its on less than its off the wastegate is open further. when its off less than its on then the waste gate is closed further. (depending on which way you look at the system!). Im towing now with your diagnostics but im thinking it could be due to the wastegate or the wastegate actuator solenoid. I think its time to take the car to someone in person. Sorry.

There is also the throttle position sensor i think but that shouldnt be affected if the car is stood still and you rev it.

My Brain hurts!
