Default Just bought a car and need help :D

Hi all,

Just bought the car this evening that I have put pics of below. Its an Sti2 v limited (apprently) lol

Ive never had a Subaru before so id like to know please if possible:

What are the differences over a normal classic?
What wheels has my car got?
In your scooby expertise is the number plate worth anything?
Does anyone have any pics of others the same model?

Many thanks, Yodi

Also how hard and how expensive is a rear wheel bearing to replace.

Thanks again

Hi Yodi,
I was one of the guys you were chatting to at Bolney next to the almost identical car

Right eay ones first.
The wheels are from a new shape (MY01-05) Impreza but sprayed gold or from a WRX300 which came in gold (I think).
Differences:
Well over a std STI2 not alot apart from the roof vent.
Over a WRX or UK of the same year too much to list, but mainly the engine internals and ECU with a higher power output

The plate would probaly be worth a bit to the right person, though I have no idea on price.

As to exactly what model it is it's hard to say whether it's an STI2 RA or an STI2 555 edition or a v-ltd of some kind More research needed I think

Ive looked for after market rear wheel bearings and they are not listed as far as i have found (blueprint list the fronts). Looks like a dealer part only? Dont know how they are to change since i never did them in the end (was just a project). Anyway the front ones need a press to do properley. I tried knocking out the "race" and in the end took the front hubs to work and pressed them out and back in.
I would imagine the rears are a tapered roller bearing with the race pressed into the hub much the same as the front. They might even be the same bearing since its odd that one is listed and not the other.
