Default Problems with the device we all praise

Just fitted a KnockLink to my Scooby – I keep getting the red lights on.

I have positioned the sensor on the block in what seems a very good position and I have adjusted the sensitivity to the middle – I don’t want to adjust it until the lights only show green as I will have defeated the very claimed use of the item.

Whats wrong?

The sensitivity should be at the highest, also ensure that the sensor is secure on the block, if its moving about it will be causing your red lights, if its secure then you may have a problem

hiya!...just an idea, but do you not think the ecu is up to the job?...or do you have a slower pre 98 ecu? if so i would fit another 3 knocklinks and maby one or two on the heads, but then im sure there's a catalog somewhere selling gadgets and gismo's for your very application......but i do hope you've got the car mapped!

I recommend using the "Ignore" feature. Just click on his name and view his User Profile, then click on "Add to Ignore List". From then on his posts will just have a box which says, "This message is hidden because MrReee/PS Lewis is on your ignore list."

Don't worry about it for now, and save the money you would have spent on therapy as a result of the worry the KB brings, on your forthcoming engine build. I will personally reserve you a slot in our calender, just tell me what year of car you have and I'll order in the pistons now!

Thank you Dr Jonathan - I will pass your expert advice onto MrLewis and urge him to seek help forthwith.

So, why do you think the KnockLink is adjustable? Either your engine is knocking or it isn't? Seems clear cut to me ...... why 'adjust' it so that the RED doesn't light?

Just cannot fathom the logic at all
