my 1993 gc8 cut out on the way to work this morning. had to abandon it to get to work. would turn over but not fire. dont think the pump/ injectors were priming.

My fuel pump failed a couple of months ago. The car ran badly as if it was on three cylinders for 1 or 2 miles then would not start. I noticed that I couldn't hear the pump prime as the ignition was switched on. So that was the problem.
If you test the voltage at the fuel pump you will be able to see where the problem is. You should get ~12 volts for 2 or 3 seconds after the ignition is switched on.
If you do, it's the pump that's failed.
If not, it's the wiring up stream that's the problem. Which could be the relay.
From memory of reading other posts, it's very difficult to get at, behind the dash I think. Do a search. It's maybe easier to do the above test first.
