non starter help!!

Default non starter help!!

Wonder if anyone could help, ive just wired a 300zx maf to my my00, its fitted with a power fc, so washoping to just change the air take to a vg30, only thing is when the maf is plugged in the apexi hand controller won't even power up, disconnect the maf loom and it powers up?

any ideas?

Sounds like a 12v or a ground is getting to the wrong place. Hence look at the last thing you changed and change it back, if the problem goes, you know what you need to fix.

You've said if you disconnect the MAF loom it powers up which instantly makes no 1 suspect the MAF loom or the MAF itself. What happens if you plug your old MAF back in (assuming you've not chopped up the old wires too badly)?

If it then works fine, it's your 300ZX MAF that's at fault, either your wiring or the MAF itself.

just been playin around with wiring, power fc now powers up and cars does start, but after 1 second of running the car cuts out, bearing in mind the power fc has only a base map, does this sound right??, only other thing i can think of is a boost leak?

sounds to me the ECU still doesn't "see" the maf.
It will probably do exactly the same without the maf connector plugged in?
