MY99 impreza sport - backbox
Looking to replace the standard backbox on my 99 sport for something that lets me hear the rumble - dont want anything too loud though.
Any advice please ?????
Will a turbo backbox fit ?????
Looking for new or secondhand so if anyone has got one lying around ????

I dont think the turbo backboxes will fit a sport. I've just been looking on the magnex website and the part numbers are different for turbo's and sport's.

Firstly try on here
www.imprezasport.net
That's a dedicated sport site and you will find info and second hand kit on there.
The turbo back box will fit on a sport.... it needs a slight adjustment but it is quite easy to do you will find that where the joint is between centre and back box you will need to elongate the 2 connecting bolt holes on the back box slightly, basically the back box wants to twist in order to marry up to the centre and elongating the holes gives that illusion and allows it to match up nicely.

I've got a magnex oval on mine. Its one of the cheaper ones (£220) and one of the quiet ones (not too quiet, still sounds great ).
The more money you got to spend, the more louder it gets......
Scoobysport
H&S
Blitz
Ninja
Are some of the commonly used.....
Scoobyworld have a special offer on at mo, buy the ninja backbox and get a free high flow panel filter.
Performance is going to depend on what other type of mods you have got on at the moment. Each make has their own qualities.. You need to look at each one and listen to them, then make up your own mind.
Performance doesnt really count. You could have a really good backbox which is known to the be the best for extra BHP but if it looks like rubbish, your not going to put it on. Are you ? ? I wouldnt anyway. Thats why I went for the magnex oval, I wanted a oval tailpipe which wasn't too loud. I didn't care what bhp gains I would get from it. But thats just my opinion.
