Noticed strong smell of petrol from exhaust when car first starts up ie cold running but seems ok when warmed up.New to subaru's so anyone got any ideas of what the problem maybe before approaching a garage.The car is a UK 98 turbo with a K&N cone filter.

 

if the car runs okay, dont worry about it. The cars do tend to run quite rich, and obviously on a cold start it will be even more so.
