i tried to remove rear plastic corners off the back bumper of my classic i can see the bolt behind the wheel and see 2 more fixings, one is a screw but how do you undo the other fixing? im guessing it will just pop off once all 3 fixings are off.

One small bolt on the end as you say, then 2 metal ones underneath and also a plastic one round the back.
Then just pull off, it will be glued around the top edge as well mind.

What a job Andy I gave up on mine and had them sprayed on the car.

right ok. its just im getting my rear bumper resprayed and want to keep the moulding black so i guess for a good respray they should come off....

It's much easier to remove the bumper Actually, it isn't bad to do. As well as the 2 bolts in the wheel arch there are 2 underneath at each chassis leg, 1 to a bracket in the centre of the back panel behind the bumper (accessed from below) and that's all. Open the boot lid, remove the plastic clips holding the boot trim on to the back panel and disconnect the 2 wires to the number plate lights. You can then withdraw the bumper, tilting it downwards if necessary to free the bits that go into the chassis leg - there is a hook type affair in there which can catch on the way out. The bolts for the corners are then easily accessed and will be a b*gg*r to get off due to rust but at least you will be able to get plenty of WD40 on them. New brackets are available from Subaru but are an astonishing £50ish (so I'm told) for a kit so it's well worth taking your time or making new ones yourself as I did using medium sized u-clips for self tappers that available from Halfords etc. Hope this helps
