my thoughts are
sti 8 bottom end
sti4/5 heads
sti inlet manifold

which heads and manifold are the best ? any comments would be greatfully recieved

What are your goals?

Why do you want to change your engine?

the inlet manofilds, whether they be sti or Uk or whatever are the same bar a bit of red paint
as long as they are of the same year of course!

sti5/6 heads and sti 8/9 bottom end would be a good way to go.
But a 2.0 cdb may be better, and certainly a fair bit cheaper

TD05-16g on a std engine is capable of making a healthy 340bhp.

Turbo makes all the difference. You will need to do some supporting mods such as intercooler, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump etc.

Is the TD04 hybrid mapped to achieve the most from it? Should get you the right side of 300 and will be alot easier on the gearbox than the td05.

I'd speak to AndyF and BobR about extracting more from the hybrid TD04 first.
