which engine bits ???
i am currently in the process of thinking about changing my engine ! and was wondering which way to go ! i don't want a 2.5l ! i want to stick with a 2.0l ! i have a my00 classic
my thoughts are
sti 8 bottom end
sti4/5 heads
sti inlet manifold
which heads and manifold are the best ? any comments would be greatfully recieved

the inlet manofilds, whether they be sti or Uk or whatever are the same bar a bit of red paint
as long as they are of the same year of course!
sti5/6 heads and sti 8/9 bottom end would be a good way to go.
But a 2.0 cdb may be better, and certainly a fair bit cheaper

bob'5 , am looking for about 340 bhp around there ! and was told the sti 8/9 have stronger bottom end and pistons
peanuts , exscuse my ignorance but what is a cdb (will no doubt be plainly obvious when you say)

ahhhhhhhhhhh cdb !
quick q , how can an sti with the same mods as mine (apart from turbo,i have a td04 hybrid andy forrest turbo) produce 340bhp there abouts and mine only puts out 280bhp ?????? surely the turbo wouldn't make an extra 60 horse power ??????

TD05-16g on a std engine is capable of making a healthy 340bhp.
Turbo makes all the difference. You will need to do some supporting mods such as intercooler, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump etc.
Is the TD04 hybrid mapped to achieve the most from it? Should get you the right side of 300 and will be alot easier on the gearbox than the td05.
