Default General Reliablity and Performance of the TD04L

Hi,

Looking to purchase a TD04L turbo from a member here scooby_matt, once the price is right because shipping will kill me.

My question is how reliable or these TD04 units and what kind of boost can I push, and does anyone have the sizing, the a/r trims and what not? How are these units in terms of reliablity, and are they problematic?

I am looking to put this unit in a Starlet GT Turbo.

Cheers,

It's a Mitsubushi unit and it's pretty bomb proof if looked after properly (Warmed up, cooled down).

It can push enough air for around 280bhp max, as for dimensions I don't know
whay they are.

mines putting out ~280/270 (realistic dyno) at 1.4bar peak (with uprated tmic).

Spool-up is stunningly fast.

PM me if you want a copy of dyno curve's (table flat torque curve..)

Sounds, good I am most concerned about the spool up, as the roads here are quite twisty you need something that gets on boost easily. How does the TD04 do in terms of heat? Oh you rstill using a TMIC?!

ok a 1.3 the spoolup will obviously be slower, but the turbo is pretty small anyway, should be an interesting project....

Well it's be done quick a bit to the Starlets, on other GT forums I frequent so I belive it will yeield favouralbe performance. I am am not looking for a super rocket, I am looking for some quick which can easily be able to tackle maybe stock WRX, Evo, Type R, T-Sports, along those lines.
