95 sti ra none runner does anyone know why the fans on my car come on when i connect the 2 green connectors under the dash to do the ecu reset . the car wont go and we cant find out why but should it do this ...anyone any ideas ?

When in diagnostics mode the Fan and Boost solinoids pulse on and off when the ignition is on..

yes it is pulsing .so the boost solinoid is that on the drivers inerwing a silver looking thing with 3 pipes coming out of it ....also cant get a reading off diagnostic test but still cant get the car to run properly ..it will start and rev its self up to 5 thousand revs then cut out and give a little back fire through the air filter it will only run for about 4 secs

Sounds like its leaking air somewhere, split pipe or duff inlet gasket. Also check that the dump valve isnt stuck open.

have you connected the black connectors as well? If I remember correctly it is the black connectors that put the ecu into diagnostic mode
