can someone please tell me what this is


is this pipe ment to go somewhere or is it just left like this

the other day my car started to smoke an when i got it home i looked under the bonnet an there was greenie stuff which looked like it was coming from this coz where it sits is where it is all funning from then on to my manifold please someone i have not got a clue why its doing it

I don't know if this is right but I think it expels excess petrol fumes

if its greeny stuff in that area could be antifreeze from the radiator end cap cracked mine did the same

That is the carbon canister as said.. it should be bolted to the chassis rail.. unable to tell from the pictures if you unbolted it.. the pipe goes into the chassis rail so any vented oil / petrol vapour runs into the chassis rail and then out.. that is a fair amount of oil and stuff if really coming out of the cabon canister.. but if it is not bolted down I expect the vibration and knocking about might have ruined it..

yeah it was bolted down i just put it like that to take the pics.

what is that little inline filter that replaces the carbon filter? where can i get one?

should be on the car already in one of the lines from the carbon canister
