Default ecu code 24 idle air control ?

ive been having problems with my 93 wrx import. driving home from work today i decided to give the car a half throttle out of a junction. the next time i came to a stand still the revs were rising and droping from 1,000rpm to 2,000 rpm without touching the throttle peadle. next i get a check engine light resulting in fault code 24 "idle air control unit"

what can i do about it as its been hapening a lot lately? ive cleaned the maf with brake cleaner, have new coil packs, plugs are less than a year old and ive removed the idle sensor from the inlet manifold and cleaned it with brake cleaner but no joy. ive had this going on for a few weeks now

thanks in advance for any help

Thumbs up

I had the exact problem with MY94 STi and i was getting the same fault code but it turned out to be the maf, renewed the maf .Although when the maf fails it tends to throw up a ilde valve code strange but true .

Hope you sort it!

Its the whole unit mate and they usually cost about £300 , just type maf into the ebay and you'll find some for sale in there.
