Default STI imported as GL

As above, My car is an STI, all the features and applied model code. However, the V5 and online car checks states it is a 1990cc Impreza GL??

Is this normal, what has happened??

my old sti V2 also is stated as a GL, as most imports are registered wrongly on DVLA database.... i have been told is normal for an import, but its a pain when selling it....

Due to "grey import" legislation, Subaru had to declare early STI models as 1.8GL, nothing to worry about

As written in the "You and your Subaru Impreza turbo" book by Haynes

mmm , depends on who first reg'd the car in the uk and the cabbages at the dvla pressing the buttons, had various imported scoobs all first reg'd by me and the v5's have come back from anything , saying wr1, sti , gl, 1800 saloon , etc etc , and i had meticulously filled in the reg for them correctly!

Just norify the DVLA in writing if you're worried. Mine says "Subaru" and that's it
