Standard Classic ECU power capability

Standard Classic ECU power capability
Getting mixed messaged from different directions.
I have a 97 UK Classic 208bhp or there abouts standard.
I have a single sports cat exhaust and flowed OEM headers and now get round about 240bhp. (Results tally from Roadyno and top speed runs)
15% increase.
I'm now wondering next best mod and torn between Apexi ECU and modified turbo on reliability, results and cost comparason.
What can the standard ECU cope with ?
Sorry if this is a daft question.
I thought if there is more air flow through MAF, ECU will just up the fueling to suit ? Like good old carburettor days

A bigger turbo will need a remap, so, depending on the power you're after and your budget, you might be better getting the remap first.
You should see 250-260 with a remap on the standard turbo, maybe a little bit more

like I said on your other post, the maf meters air before the turbo, so fitting a bigger turbo is not going to increase airflow!!
Personally what I would do is this
get a power fc fitted and mapped. This will give you quite a bit more power and also the kick in the back that you want
Further down the line you can upgrade the turbo and have a tweak on the map (not expensive) to suit the new turbo
