Default uprated fuel pump problem.

i fitted a wallbora 255 fuel pump to my98 classic.car has not run right with it when you boot car the engine bogs down. not all the time but most of it/do i need to get mixture set or is there anything else i should try

uprated pump is poss overcoming the tired standard fuel regulator.... you might want to upgrade that too

Yep..

cheaper option is to refit the old pump..

it can be mapped around the problem but you would need obviously a mappable ecu and a remap.

thanks for the replies. my car has a unichip decated k/n 260bhp dastec said with new pump they could remap to 280bhp put on new pump but doesnt run just right .is there any other things to try as well as fuel regulater

no..

there is nothing neccessarily wrong with the fuel pressure reg.. it is just being overpowered by the more powerful pump.

They should be able to map around the extra fuel flow and increase the boost to give you more power now.. but running the car on the more powerful pump and the current map is not ideal.

what gains in fitting fuel pressure reg. i will get car remaped but is it worth fitting reg before remap
