Since I've owned my '93 wrx, it has always had a misfire on tick over. When driving it is unnoticeable, and drives well. But when I pop the bonnet, whilst the engine is idling, I can hear and see the misfire (the odd random miss type of shake).

Any ideas?

I had a similiar fault on my 94 STI and it was a coil pack. Only happened on tick-over but was running perfect on boost .

Renew the offending coil pack and see if that helps on your car!

 

hi,mine does the same,have always had it,renewed coil packs and all sorts of things but still does it.if i pop the bonnet i can hear it miss and pop down the downpipe now and again.thats the only thing that it does and apart from that it drives/runs fine,mines a 94reg import which is highley modded,
