just changed one on my bugeye wrx

remove intercooler
remove turbo heatshield
remove downpipe ( probably better to soak bolts overnight in wd40 etc)
now you can see 2 bolts under the downpipe
remove uppipe from turbo
go under car
remove manifold
remove turbo side engine mount bolt
jack engine up 2 inch on turbo side
that should give you enough space to get manifold out
fit new manifold ( i used new gaskets)
make sure manifold is not touching sump \ filter \ loom

Hardest bit is removing the bolts off the turbo \ downpipe if they have been on a while - had to hammer and chisel some off mine

not sure what car you have, may be someone can confirm if they are all the same

Rich

yes it can be done on car ramps/axle stands, the engine mount is just undone and engine jacked up to allow pipes in. cheers mark

There is a way to fit this so as you dont get any issues with blowing joints/gaskets etc....

Fit the manifold to the engine first.

Then fit the up-pipe to the manifold next

Then fit the up-pipe to the turbo last!!

This allows for any movement to be used up at the turbo end, where there is more room for adjustment.

Thats the way I fitted mine (troublesome 2 bolt flange Gruppe-S) and have never had any issues with blown gaskets etc.... (touch wood!) in 2yrs +
