Default CEL + low boost reading

I`ve just realised that my Bugeye WRX is only boosting to a maximum of approximately 0.6 bar. It usually boosts up to 1.2 bar.
But, my CEL is on as i`ve taken out the EGT sensor (exhaust gas temp sensor) after decatting the up-pipe. (Just trying to find a fix now)

So, are these possibly related? would my car be in safe mode/limp home mode with the CEL on for this sensor? And, does safe mode even have anything to do with the boost anyhow?

Any advice appreciated

Cliff

My Bugeye trashed the EGT sensor and threw up a CEL fault........didn't change anything and it ran as normal...
