hello,
I have a 98 subaru impreza gt ( euro version ) with dawes at 1,2 bar and decat, if I install a bigger turbo I really need a remap?

As long as you check for knock, then it can be done. But you should choose a turbo that naturally tails off at the top end - VF23 is perfect for this
Assuming everything else is in working order, you will be running lean during spool-up (but not dangerously so, it just slows spool up).
Note that you must check for at least knock, and better is a wideband for fuelling too. You have 380cc injectors (my99/00 have 440's) - from memory you'll run into problems running more than 1 bar past 6k with a vf23 with a healthy car. Your car *really* needs to be in good health before you start.
We ran a my98 a few years back for 18 months with a VF23 at 1.3 bar on the stock map with nothing untoward.
Last reminder (disclaimer...... ) - don't just assume because it can be done on one my98, it can on another....your car must be 100% healthy before you start
