Post WHICH LAMBDA REPLACEMENT

Where would I get a 3 wire Lambda sensor from to fit a 1998 JDM WRX TypeR.

I have a Jap Denso 4 wire (1 extra earth wire) almost new (1500km) can I use this.

I will be getting AndyF to map and fit an APEXI FC so I would like to ensure the sensor is 100%.

Regards

ScoobyDawg

Unhappy

I am after a lambda as well for my '99 Type R. Having trawled the net the only dealer I can find to supply a new one is Graham Goode at around £200 with VAT. This is seriously steep. There are plenty of old/used ones available from the salvage boys but you never know what you are getting; (could be worse than what you are taking out)!
Like you I need a clean one, preferably the stock part which is Bosch. Running the car with NF booster and decat downpipe has knackered mine.

Steep indeed! but API's does not come with the plug, you have to solder on your old one.

About £105 all in IIRC, not your hotwires Halfords jobbie

I'm getting one of these for my MY99 UK Turbo.

Thumbs up JAP LAMBDA

Thanks for the recommendations.

The problem still is getting one for a Jap Import (300bhp from the factory) and its been upgraded since with exhaust, internals etc.

BLINDSIDE is yours a JDM if so I will keep in touch as the Lambda must be almost the same. The prices are a bit steep, I will try ring AndyF for advice.

Cheers again I'll carry on trawling.

The one im after is for A Jdm 2001 Sti 7 so should not be an issue if they can supply as they are denso O2 sensors without the Subaru branding & Connector .

Thumbs up THAT LAMBDA AGAIN

Just spoke with AndyF, as usual Andy was very informative and helpful.

He told me that there is almost no difference between a JDM and UK Lambda Sensor - may be the length of the wire and connector.

I asked about putting in my spare 4 wire (connect an extra earth wire), he said that it could affect the information to the ECU.

David at API got a mention as his prices are keen.

DeanF - Thanks m8

Thanks again guys for the help

Question

Yes thanks from me as well guys for all the suggestions. I would be very happy to pay £40-50 and fit a UK compatible sensor.
My problem is the same as yours Scooby Dawg. I am running a jap import and would need to be sure that a cheaper sensor would be both compatible and accurate. What is the verdict? API and solder on the original connector? Cheers
