Default power steering leak from wire.

Just noticed that my power steering is leaking from the wire coming out of the pump, and not the o-rings which i thought.

'94 uk turbo
Has anyone else experienced this?
What is the wire for?
Can it be repaired?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes mine did the same 93 wrx it is an earth wire take pump off wire unplugs afew inches back , strip pump and you will find the wire attaches to a brass fitting inside a hard plastic sleeve , i cut wire off brass fitting and then aroldited the fitting into the plastic sleeve to seal it then cleaned up the metal gasket on the pump and put back together with a smear of gasket sealer , the oil you will find is seeping past the brass fitting in the plastic as long as you seal it with something like aroldite it will not leak again i would wait a few hours for the aroldite to harden before assembly and i aslo changed the o-rings while it was apart got the from halfords in an o-ring box set.
Did mine 2 years ago now and still does not leak the wire is for a static earth and only on early cars disconnecting it does not bring and engine lights on or any other problems.
