I wouldn't bother with a stock car, do you have any modifications?

The exhaust has been changed to a revolution full system but I am looking to sell that and get a blitz again, she has a K & N Panel filter but am considering changing it for an induction kit (pirely for the sound) and she will have a HKS DV at some point

If the car has a decat and induction kit, then definitely have a remap. Car is running on borrowed time otherwise IMHO

There's no induction kit yet but I'm sure there will be soon

Shall have it mapped as soon as the toys go on, just need to find somewhere to do it now

I would not fit an induction kit at the moment, they can cause more trouble than they are worth. Removing the resonator in the inner wing may give you what you want. If you feel you need an induction kit then somthing like the Apexi unit or GGR/Mac's Power seems okayish, but the 99/00 cars are VERY sensitive to induction kits and how they disturb the MAF sensor readings.

In fact I would say don't fit the induction kit until the mapping, the mapper may well want to baseline your standard airbox and check the MAF sensor is working properly, this isn't easy to do on a non standard induction.
