MY2001 WRX question
Lads, im fitting a full mongoose system and a green panel filter.
Will I be ok to run the car like this until I get it to the mapper ?
Its a standard uk 2001 bug eye WRX .
Just worried incase it will run lean or fuel cut ?
Cheers lads, any help appreciated.

Don't take this as gospel but i'm planning a de-cat on the same car and i've been advised by a few people that you don't need to go for a re-map straight away.....?
Edited to add -
Or drive off boost until you do.... apparently an STi may suffer from running lean / boost creep if you de-cat but the WRX doesn't suffer from the same symptoms.....

There shouldn't be any problems with the Bugeye WRX as the ECU can learn quite quickly. I'm sure the mapper will know to map out CEL code P0420 (cat below efficiency) as well
Bug eye STi's had a problem with boost spikes AFAIK
Midlife.....

Did you get the up-pipe and downpipe cats removed??
I was under the impression you should feel quite a difference after this as the turbo should spool up earlier (slightly) cos of the up-pipe and the downpipe is supposed to really supplement the breathing....
Strange!!

You should be 100% fine without mapping - I had a full TSL 2.5 inch system and green panel filter fitted for about 3 months before visiting a mapper.
Wrung the heck out of the car, all was fine
Loads of pops and whistles on overrun though

woolz you will need your cats for the MOT unless you know a friendly tester.
Midlife, its getting done by Gavin at Wallace Performance in Aberdeen.
First time Ive used them for anything, and ive tuned a few motors So il write a report when I get back from his place next wednesday.
