Default Please sort my life out for me!!!!!!!

Im admittedly a technical idiot when it comes to cars so please can I have some easy plain and simple advice from you guys

Right, my Scoob is a Bugeye WRX, the relevant bits its just had done are:

Decat up-pipe (so now fully decatted)
STi intercooler
VF28 turbo

and its already been previously Ecutec mapped.

Im just coming to the end of my running in period after a rebuild and im going to get it mapped asap.

Bascially, my question, do I need STi pink injectors + a Walbro fuel pump to get me over 300bhp, or would a fuel pressure regulator suffice? or, fuel pump and pressure reg? Im getting conflicting advice and im getting confuddled

cheers

Cliff

your existing fuel pump would probably be okay, but your better of having extra capacity rather than being on the limit imo, so I would recommend an uprated pump. Your existing regulator will probably be okay also as its not that old. Again though some people change these as a matter of course.

What size injectors do you have at the moment? are they 380cc or 440cc? Personally I would go with the sti pinks (are these 510 or 550cc?) this will mean once remapped they will not be maxing out to get your 300bhp target. Would also go for a replacement panel filter as well.

Cheers mate.
I`ve got a JR panel filter in place too (forgot that).
My injectors are the standard 380`s on the WRX.
My sources told me that getting an adjustible regulator would mean I didnt need the injectors changing......... But I know nowt about those technical wizardry thingys

I've got 380's on my classic and apparently they max out at 300bhp! Hope that helps!

with an adjustable regulator it just adjusts the presure. All that means is that your injectors would be maxing out. The 380cc is the limit of what that can flow, even if you have more pressure, you will still have the same flow capacity thats how i see it anyway. Someone may say Im wrong

Speak to the people who are going to do the mapping. My view is fit the STi pink injectors as these will have plenty of spare flow and will be a darn site cheaper than another rebuild. I've got a Bugeye STi running 360 break on original injectors with no sign of running out of fuel flow. Regarding the adjustable regulator I have fitted a FSE fuel regulator. This increases the fuel pressure quicker than the standard item. Result is a far better pick up compared to my mates with similar power. Do it right and ENJOY

whoever told you blobeyes are 440s are lying. They are all 380s.

Cliff its a little more risky to up the pressure the safest and most flexible method is the puel pump and injectors.

Cliff,

Are you sure you've only got 380's?
Anyway, I made 295 on std classic map, injectors and internals with

Full decat
Induction kit (PE's big one)
Bigger TMIC
TD05
255 pump
adjustable reg (upped a bit)
manual boost controller

leave the airbox cliff...itll be fine. You dont need the extra expense of an induction kit when the airbox is more than capable of getting you the power you want.
