Default How Do U Get More BHP From A Type R

if i go for a version 4, i keep reading that i wont be able get the ecu remapped !

just wondered if i end up with a version 4 1998 type r what options will i have to achieve around 340bhp ?

where will do me a packeage upgrade ?

I'm fairly new to the impreza world so am no expert, but owning a V4 Type R myself I've been looking into this sort of thing. From what I've seen other people do, a full decat then remap seems to give around 310bhp, and maybe a bit more if you get a replacement induction kit.

I'd say it'll cost about £500 (minimum) for the full decat (excluding fitting), and a remap is about £700. You're right that you can't Ecutek a pre 99 model, but you can use an Apexi ECU chip instead.

best bet would to be to go for walboro fuel pump,550cc injectors,apexi power fc full decat,ported headers and a bigger turbo ie TD05 front entry and of course a remap

not cheap i know but you will be grinning for a long time

failing that take it to well lane rolling road

lol out of all them links that andy forrest does seem to be most useful !

apexi does seem the best option for the version 4 then

cant wait now

fingers crossed mid feb ill be out blasting about in a version 4

however childish this seems me mates got a y plate evo6, full exhaust and decatted. by god does it shift !

he reckons its prob around 320bhp now !

so his car will be the target car to beat

hee hee hee

26 and i still act 17 when it comes to cars and big boyz toyz
