trace the small thin black rubber pipe from compresor outlet to a tee piece, the tee has one end going to actuator the other to the solenoid on the inner wing area just behind the airbox

subaru kindly labelled the location of the restrictor with a blodge of whitish paint, if paint has worn off, you can feel it easily enough and the thin little black rubber pipe will have a bulge in it

nearly what 3bar said.. only on the STi1 you have a 3port boost solenoid and therefore no T piece.. it is in the pipe between the resonator in the air intake just before the turbo and the boost solenoid on the inner wing.. like 3bar says there is some white paint in the pipe.
