Cool Piston slap

Been to API in southam and they said i have piston slap i cant afford to get it done at the moment.

MY93 wrx turbo import.

If i was to change my oil would it be better to switch to a lower grade oil
Im using millers 10/60 at the moment anyone got any idea's.

i`m sure mine had piston slap







































then the crank fooked up!

Hodgey, Piston slap is only a noise and an indication of poor fit of the pistons to the bores. And then we are only talking a few odd thousandths of an inch.

Unless it is burning oil or getting substantially louder leave it alone. As Stanno says, if the crank fails then you have an opportunity to cure piston slap. If it holds together then leave well alone.

Once it starts using oil or does not quieten when it gets warm, THEN and ONLY THEN you can start thinking about a repair or an upgrade to more power. In the meantime forget about it.
