WANT TO PUT DECAT DOWNPIPE ON 96 WRX.BUT AT BOTTOM PART OF CAT THERE IS A EGT SENSOR.THE DEALERS I HAVE PHONED AROUND SAID THEIR DOWNPIPE CONTAINS HOLE FOR LAMBA SENSOR.BUT NOT EGT.CAN I JUST UNPLUG THIS.OR WILL I GET CELL LIGHT AND RUNNING PROBLEMS .[

]Now the up-pipe (before the turbo between the turbo and exhaust manifold) I believe has a EGT sensor, which makes more sense as you will get much more accurate EGTs here (although in the manifold is even better).
I de-catted my 1994 WRX which had an egt sensor on the upper part by the turbo. I was told to remove this and put a bung in it's place. You can get one from Roger Clark Motorsport with very quick delivery.

It triggers at over 1000deg iirc so just put it out of the way and it'll never trigger, so as far as the ecu is concerned it still works.
