Exclamation DIY oil change using front ramps..?

Those of you who do your own oil changes, do you use ramps, if so how do you get around the fact that the car 'should' be level..?

I've jacked the back of car up in the past, but this can be a PITA. At my M&D's old place there drive sloped slightly which was excellent as this meant the car was virtually level on front ramps only..!

How detramental (sp?) (to the oil drain) is the front being a bit higher..?

Put most of the oil in...... Roll the car off the ramps, (not running) then top up once on level-ish ground...

Why do you need to jack it up? I just lie on the floor in front of the car and reach under.

Or, why do you need it jacked up to refill with oil

jack under offside front, remove sump plug and oil filter, lower car back down (to allow oil to run out on level) fill new oil filter, jack car back up (when it's finished draining) new oil filter back on, sump plug back in, lower car back down and fill with oil on the level.

Don't see the need to fill with oil while jacked up?

I couldn't get the car up on ramps at the front because the spoiler was too low - it's a standard MY 02 WRX. Ramps look no different to other ramps you can buy, but maybe they have a steeper angle?

Used axle stands though a few times.

Good idea, might give that a try..!

Same here, the reason for being level was to facilitate (sp?) drainage of old oil..!
