Default What oil for an Autobox ?

I have a 1998 Forester T/tb with the automatic gearbox. The 60k service is due and I wondered what oil is recommended for the autobox ? I want to use a good quality one- should it be synthetic ?
Also , what should be used for the diffs ?

Thanks

Brian

ATF is synthetic as long as it conforms to Dexron II its fine. As long as it's a known mainstream brand there won't be any issues (Castrol, Mobil, etc ).

You "could" put in dexron III, but its overkill on a standard road car (except when soley specified) . Unless it gets alot of abuse or you tow heavy loads.

For the diffs, Castrol Syntrax 75w/90 is probably the easiest off the shelf option.
