Default Hunting

Hello all.

I'm new on here so not too up on the ins and outs of a scooby.

I've got a MY00 uk turbo with magnex system (only 1 cat removed). I've just had a chipped uk remap. Since i've had it done the car runs a lot better, but often hunts on tickover when its hot (500 - 1000 rpm). I've had a search and it looks like the MAF could be to blame. Just wondered if this could be a coinsidence or the map could have messed things up.

Any help is appreciated

Cheers i thought that might be the case. Its not had an ECUtec its just had the standard chip remapped. been out in it tonight and it only did it once when i came to a junction.
I have noticed my fuel ecconomy has gone down quite a bit could a MAF cause this?

MAF can cause that but also could be Lambda sensor as well.
Check for any fault codes http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co....iag%20Page.htm

Checked for fault codes today, the only code that appeared was 12. This is supposed to be the starter switch, yet it starts no problems at all. Could it be the clifford causing this?

I had a simlar snag with mine (my99) classic, the check engine light would come on ever now and then and go just as quick along with the hunting rpm, took it subaru and they looked at it for me(still under cover then), turns out the maf was on the way out, a common fault on this year but the replacements have been modded, also if you have an oiled filter this will kill it too, as for the fault code 12, the techie said its because the alarm kills the starter and the ecu can see this as a fault when its not really, hope this helps?

had same problem on my 99 classic last month, changed both the MAF and Oxygen sensor and it runs a treat now, fuel economy seems a lot better too.

Cheers for all the help everyone. I know MAF sensors are around £80, does anyone know what the damage will be for a lambda?
I got the standard ecu flash mapped, it got plugged into a laptop through the diagnostics port, nothing else got touched.

yea mine did, its why i changed both. I only had a fault code for the oxygen sensor even though it was hunting cos of the MAF being knackered.
