Default Engine Cleaning?

My JDM car arrived with a filthy engine, so I gave it a good clean, but there are places I can't get to that are still dirty. I wanted to take the car for a steam clean, but do not know whether it is safe to do so or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've used CD 2 with great results. Only £7.99 too. You don't need a pressure washer. watering can is a better idea.

I couln't find CD2 anywhere, I'm not sure you can still get it, so I used a carplan product from halfords (£4.99), Did a really good job of cleaning the engine and you then just spray the same stuff on as a detailer. (say that it looks, smells and leaves the same silicon residue as WD40) which is a couple of £ cheaper
