Default Oil temperature low?????????

Just driven the car today and the oil temp won't go past 70C. It usually sits around 85C and upwards.
I've recently had a FMIC, Turbo and fuel pump fitted (if it makes any difference). I've driven it for over a week with the new bits and oil temperature has been normal.
The temp is been taken by a Defi gauge. Is it possible the sender is faulty????

Don't think the temp is a problem. I've just driven some more and the gauge basically chucked a dippy fit. Jumping from 60 to 70 and then back to 50 and just being daft. The record, playback and peak functions are working fine so i'm thinking the sensor is fooked or the wire has a nick in it somewhere and is shorting

Cool

I'm the same m8, fitting the FMIC does a great job on cooling the intake charge. Hence lower combustion chamber temperatures, therefore cooler running engine. Has your coolant temp dropped a fraction aswell? Just enjoy trying to get the temperature up Steve

Jumping temp does indeed suggest dodgy connection/sensor.

Since the FMIC has gone on, none of the temps have been affected that much. I'm gonna check the wires first
Cheers...

Just for your info when I fitted an STI TMIC to my WRX MY03 I instantly had lower oil temps which is only good IMO.
