You know it would be the better bet for a quick car. Saves you a bit of cash that way too instead of trying to extort cash from ya mates

If you want to tweak the car yourself, retain the factory driveability then the Autronic is a good solution for the new age cars, it is however more expensive at around £1495+vat fitted and mapped. Very nice software to use, although to get the best you need to budget another £300 or so for a compatible wideband.

Thanks Paul, have you done many of these yet? are there any noticable limitations of it? or do they work in a similar way to the power FC? same level of control?

I have run th early type plug in on my own car since june this year, and have mapped the SM4 on a skyline of late. The New age Autronic is based on the SM4 is very comprehensive, it has many many feature, many of which you will not use, some you will, like full support for nitrous control (including mappable ignition retard), water spray control, EGT based feedback, multiple boost profiles, gear dependant boost control, ALS, Launch control, flat **** etc etc. It is available to plug straight into your factory loom, requires the addition of an inlet temp sensor, and does away with the MAF sensor. It has closed loop lambda control, excellent idle, cold start and light throttle control, and has optional knock control module.

The only thing it lacks is the convenience of the FC Commander for small changes, but comes with everything you need to hook up your own laptop straight away should you be that way inclined.
