HELP WITH TYRES, SPARK PLUGS AND OIL
Guys,
Hope I am posting in the right section.
I have a K plate Subaru Impreza Turbo (Import) which is currently fitted with Pirelli P Zero Tyres which I personally think are rubbish.
I'm looking for good tyre suggestions and good ideas where to buy them at a reasonable price.
I have standard 16's on my car!
Also due to have my car serviced and wondered what oil I should be using and also what spark plugs. The car engine us untouched except for a dump valve!
Appreciate your comments on this.
Thanks
Dave

Lots of people on here will say different things, but a lot of it comes down to personal choice.

plug NGK PFR6B gapped to 0.7mm, the standard plug.
Oil Motul 15W50 300v Competition
that would be my recommendations.. not sure on a good tyre for 16inch rims as I run 17.

Similar spec
My car's almost identical, '93L wrx import.
mods so far:
S/S cat-back exhaust
HKS panel filter
dump valve
I'm about to service and will be using Mobil1 0w-40 fully synthetic oil
NGK PFR6 or maybe PFR7 plugs
I've got tiny 15" rims that came with Pirelli P6000 which were absolutely hopeless, especially in the wet, so tried Bridgestone Potenzas and these are much better. I've noticed marked improvements, especially in the wet. My all-time favourite tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1s, but didn't have any arms or legs to spare at the time!
Hope this helps.

I've had Pzeros on 16" rims before and I agree they are useless at the slight hint of moisture on the road. I went for Avon ZZ3 205/50 and am really impressed - very good prices at Camskill.
Personally I run Silkolene proS 10w50.
Sparkplugs - NGK PFR6 gapped to 0.7

For the tyres, look HERE Superb in every respect, wet/dry/value I'm running Toyo's at the mo' but don't find them as grippy as the Vred's.
Oil, I think 15W is a little thick and 0W will be too thin. If it's quite high on miles or occasionaly track'd I'd consider a 10W, otherwise a 5W. Silkolene ProS is my favourite, but any synthetic from the likes of Millers or Motul will be excellent too. I'd leave the 15W to seriously high powered stuff and regular track users.
PFR's are fine for the plugs.
