Hi Dan,

Scoobys really should be having a service every 7,500 miles or 6 months depending which comes first. Even if your model specifies larger amounts of time between I would recommend that you stick to the above.
At 56,000 it will be coming up to a major srevice (every 30,000 - 60,000 - 90,000 and so on).
I decided that for my first service I'll go to a main dealer because they are sure to go totally with the original service schedule and make sure everything is done. However, this is costly, but hey we don't buy them because they are cheap to keep, eh!!
Below is the impreza service schedule, hope it helps.

Regards
Andy

I'd get a FULL service done change all fluids and belts etc. unless you know the car's history. Then you can follow the recommended intervals safe in the knowledge that everything is upto date.

Guys, i'm thinking of getting my import serviced because there is no service history? Central subaru in wolverhampton will do a major service inc belt changes for £400 all in. To me that sounds ok, because i had my previous S3 serviced and camblet change and cost me £837!

Anyone agree?

Major service on new age without belts is about £400-£450 at a main dealer, with belts say plus £150-£200, that's without tensioners..

Do check what they mean by major service would include; plugs, diff and g'box oil, engine oil & filter, coolant change, fuel filter and brake fluid dependant on age..

Hi Kalv,

If it is what it says it is then yes, you are getting a good deal. Is it a proper Subaru dealership? The only reason I ask is that usually main dealers won't touch imports with a barge pole - they reckon they are totally different which personally I think is a load of rubbish.
A good friend of mine had a K reg. WRX import and the first thing he did was get everything replaced - cambelt, oil, plugs, filters, the works. Cost him around 500 quid. So if its around this figure I'm guessing they're probably going to do the lot.
Personally, if I went for an import (I have a UK turbo 2000) i would of budgeted that into the price of the car because whatever the history/dealer/importer/japanese translator said, for my own peace of mind I would get a major service done.
Unlike most cars, these cars NEED servicing so its best to begin with a clean sheet.
This help you at all??

Regards
Andy
