Default Oil Pressure Light On - But very very dimly...

Any ideas?

Going to get a oil pressure gauge on it to check but it is extremely dim. Car was driving fine when I noticed it. Parked up now.

Sump pickup blocked maybe slightly and causing a very slight contact or?

The oil light is either on or off - it could flicker but on dimly indicates an electrical fault.

That's good news

Will be checking today with a mechanical oil pressure gauge to make sure.

What pressure should it be at idle?

If it is low, it is either blocked oil passageway, blocked oil pickup or oil pump failure isn't it?

A note that when changing the oil pressure senders, there was plenty of oil at the top of the block.

pressure when cold will be something like 6bar at idle.

hot idle 2~3bar depending on oil and year..

Hopefully it is a connnection problem

Have you checked to see if you have the oil and water temp conector on the wrong ones? They are close together and would explain things if you have!
