Bigger Turbo Inlet Hose?
Is there any real advantage to this?
Ive been looking at items such as the perrin inlet hose which seems to be significantly wider than the OE rubber item? I presume that getting more air to the turbo is benefiticial but also could it not have the reverse effect of reducing the pressure that the air is delivered to it? in the same way that increasing the bore of an up pipe can increase lag?

you still have the standard turbo yes? Most certainly not needed if that's the case, and even if it wasn't, probably still not needed. Spend £50-£100 more and get a used TD05 turbo with a front entry conversion!

Testing this on my car (in the Article forum) showed that whilst it improved top end power by a small amount it actually had the opposite effect lowdown (changing from the standard pipe to a lesser restricted one).
Strangly enough though...... the replacement silicon inlet hose (while being less restricted) was not that fair off the size of the standard one (the spec c inlet hose is a fair bit bigger than a normal STi one). So be aware... the silicon hose will probably be a lot different in design than your standard one, so if my findings were taken through to a logical conclusion, you may lose even more lowdown response.
Regards,
Shaun.
