My P1s really fast, sometimes!!
Seems to be a problem with my car, now and again ill jump in and the car feels really strong, nice kick when hitting full boost and generally feels very good, then ill be half way through a gear and all the power seems to disappear, boost seems to be limited and it just dont feel as good. Can stay like this for weeks then all of a sudden be fine again, for a while, then reverts back to being a slug. Any ideas?

Most people that have had engine problems with their P1 have remarked that it was going better than ever, just before it blew up.
Sounds like your MAF sensor is causing it to run lean, hence more power. The only problem is that it's detting so the boost is getting pegged back.
Get a new sensor on it ASAP and run it on Optimax.

Doesnt feel like its a fueling problem, deffo seems to be running less boost. Just been rebuilt with sti9 shortblock @ powerstation. Always run on optimax. Anyone else think the MAF is a good bet?

best bet see if you can get it plugged into a diagnostic and see if it flags up any results, best to drive as little as possible and very steady till you get it checked out, just to beon safe side

yep, i agree with that. Was rebuilt due to big end failure, I asked if this could be caused by the Maf and PS assured me that it couldnt. I think ill change it anyway.
Thanks

Cheers guys, ecu reset showed no codes and DIDNT restore power, think ill go down the MAF route since its prob the original at 63k and i cant afford another rebuild if something bad happens. What should i be paying for a maf @ subaru and does anyone have a part no. for the P1?

You'll need a T20 torx security bit to remove the screws.

It's a piece of pi$$ to replace.

Boost was returned after first reset, then died again on the way to Subaru. Replaced sensor now and reset ecu again. Boost has been restored and hopefully will stay this time, i'll report back to let u guys know, thanks for all the help.

Nope, still exactly the same, boost was restored after reset then died shortly after, this is with the new maf. any other ideas? Will my local dealership be able to run a sensor check or something? I really cant afford to go buying new sensors and hoping, just spent a fortune on a rebuild.
Car is standard exept Ninja exhaust, baileys DV and the sti 9 short block
Any help appriciated, thanks.

You'll need to go to a Dealer with a Slect Monitor OR a specialist with the EcuTek Deltadash software to look at the sensor outputs and see what's wrong.
That ESP Genesis software won't work as it's only for the diagnostics protocol used in the newer cars.
