hmmm, and where would this friendly MOT tester be located vava voom?

my 95 de-catted wrx passed everything but emissions ... 0.6% and 0.46% supposedly should be 0.3% ....i can't really afford to do much about it at the moment, just need to get my MOT and pay my tax!

cheers
paul

You'll be lucky to pass with no cat, just fit a catted centre and all should be well.

Did you have the car really warmed up when tested? Cats need to be very hot to work properly.

Lambda's nothing to do with the cat. Just so happens that it screws into the down pipe before any cats, on a classic.

Is the down pipe stainless? If so it's unlikely to have a cat in it. Not an OE one anyway.

Cats are in the down pipe & centre on WRX, down pipe only on STi.

Probably your best bet is to buy/borrow an OE centre cat. It takes 15 minutes to change at MOT time if the bolts aren't too rusted. If you ask nicely on here someone may lend you one. If you're near Bedford, you can use mine.

Just seen your post count. Sorry Welcome to Scoobynet
