In colder and damper weather, the old clutch judders sometimes on my bugeye and the car's a bit grumpy and jumpy for the first mile or so - also get petrol whiffs on cold damp days during warm up phase. All these things are probably typical scooby traits and I've stopped worrying about any of them.

Had the problem and solved it, it is residue on the clutch plate which causes the juddering from cold, hense why you don't experience it when the engine is warm.

2 option to fix it:

1, If your car is under warrenty Subaru will resolve the problem for you

2, A couple of launch start around 4500/5000rpm and that solves it.

I hope that this is of some help, you could also take it to Subaru to fix it if it is not under warrenty but I was told it NOT CHEAP.

good point m8, launch starts can clean the surface of the clutch as they tend to get manky so a good clean up from launches should stop the judder or make it better anyway .. rev that baby up hard then let her launch....please do this when fully warmed!

Just live with it, mine does exactly the same. It'll go after warm up. Dont launch it, you'll nacker your clutch.

I second that advice - but in my experience clutch judder is more noticeable from start during colder and damper season - hardly ever got it all through summer but it's back again but as usual only for the first mile or so after starting up.
