UP pipe fitting for a MY02 wrx
hi guys,
i have a HKS up pipe to be fitted to MY02 wrx
just wanted to find out how much i should be looking to pay to get it fitted?
i was told by someone that in would take about 4 hours labour to get it on, is that roughly correct?
i also wanted to know if the are complications in fitting/using different exhaust component? ie different brand up pipe, down pipe, centre section an muffler.
any advive would be grrrreat.
cheers
nick

I've had a quote for £75 plus vat to fit one on my '01 WRX, 3 hours labour at £25..
Believe all the aftermarket and OE exhaust parts are interchangable unless you are buying something of a different bore..

cheers mate,
where abouts was that quote from?
is it better to keep a 2.5" or 3" bore all the way through?
at the mo i've just got a prodrive back box, but i'd want to change that in the future anyway.

Just dont fall into the trap i did recently, was quoted around £100 to fit, which i thought was fine. When i returned to collect was given bill for over £200, due to every gasket being changed also.
£100 for gaskets
£100 for gaskets

Scoobyclinic:
£125 up & down pipe fitted ~4hrs.
Top job..!
Can get siezed nuts/studs and then it can be hell to do. The Clinic know the score and @£25/hr you can't go wrong IMHO..!
BTW worth wrapping them BEFORE fitting..!

I'm booked in at S'clinic this Fri, just having the up-pipe fitted, not decided on the heat wrap as yet, they do it for £25 plus VAT and use the H & S pipe which is slip jointed so no problems there..

AFAIK wrapping does a couple of things 1. retains the heat in the pipe so gasses are hotter and move quicker...
2. reduces the amount of heat rising into the engine bay
