Default Whats the limit on Newage 380cc injectors

Just wanted to know the limit on 380 injectors on my 04 WRX, as im having a VF28 turbo put on and mapped next week and was wondering if the injectors would be up for the job.

At a guess, 270ish BHP - a little more if you raise the fuel pressure.

I believe the PPP has them going at 100% duty cycle at times, and that's around 260 bhp.

you "can" get 290 out of them......a friend has admitted only using the TD04.

I thought they were 440's on 04 WRX's, i'm using standard injectors with a VF34 turbo & i'm getting 336bhp, when Bob Rawle mapped it he did say the injectors were running 90% duty cycle.

I have seen ppl on here with 280-290 on the 380's, but my car only manages 268 bhp, and i got told they were pretty much maxed out at that. I got that info from 2 different very well respected places.
At the most 290, but an easy 270 you should get.
After that you be like me and looking at turbos, 440 or 550 injectors, etc, and more remaps;

Basically same for me on my 05, although using TD04, BR said inj were well within their capacity. Powerstation RR 276/266 @1.4bar.

Granby, how much of a difference did the VF34 make on the road..? (assuming you ran a remapped TD04 before).

You assume right , the difference is when you get to 3500rpm you have a very big grin on your face as you get pushed hard back into the drivers seat , also where a TD04 runs out of steam at about 5500-6000rpm the VF34 keeps on going to the redline & further i think if it could

They should be 440cc injectors, the phase 2 engine comes with these and as its a phase 2 engine....

AFAIK these still run 440cc injectors, last cars to run 380's were the MY97 cars, best to ask david at API, he will be able to tell you but i doubt they dropped the spec of the engine.

93-97 uk run 380cc, 99/00 UK run 440cc, 01-04 WRX run 380cc injectors.
300bhp is the safe limit on 380's.

Approximate way to rate injectors is Size x 0.8 = bhp limit.

High flow pumps running on higher fuel pressure regulators can increase this slightly.

Beware of quoting just a single rolling road bhp figure, best to average results over a few to get a realistic average.

MY03 WRX with PPP ECU, 145lt/h fuel pump (in place of the factory 130lt/h) and full decat (standard injectors are as Andy says, all new age WRX's have 380cc, I am not sure but believe the same applies to the 2.5lt WRX).
More or less 240HP measured with DD and 100-101% injector duties for a very short period of 200-300rpm.
I have had an AVO turbo inlet hose that sent my IDC at 107% after 5500rpm recently.

Andy,

Maybe you should have said,

Also, does this also apply to turbo capability ?
