remap and de cat, what order
Hi
Planning on getting my 04 WRX remapped in the next couple of weeks. In about 6 months time I will change the exhaust system + decat. This is because I do not want to invalidate the warranty on the car.
Will I need a further remap once I have change the system?
If I need a remap, will the firm charge me the full whack or is it a quick tweak?
Your advice is appreciated.

If you get a remap you will invalidate the warranty anyway.
Do the exhaust first if possible so the remap can take advantage of the free flow. If you are having an Ecutek remap and then again after the exhuast the second remap will cost about £250 (the first will be about £550). It's all to do with licencing costs.
Power Engineering in Uxbridge are recommended

It only invalidates the warranty if you tell them about it, I have quite a bit of warranty left on the car, but am craving more power.
The PPP route is too expensive so I need something now.
If it's only going to cost about £250 post the exhaust then that I can live with.
I am presuming also that if I change the exhaust post map that I will experience an increase in power and torque but the output and delivery will not be at optimum, is this correct?

I've done my exhaust first, plus GREEN Cotton Panel Filter and the car feels very different to drive. Less responsive at low revs but more grunt at higher revs.
I also think my fuel economy has got worse but am not sure.
Anyway, I've been booked in for my ecutek for a while now and am having it done on Monday so am not too bothered.
If you have an ecutek done now and then change the exhaust (and more importantly remove the cats) you wIll need another remap but it should only cost you £150-£250.

With a decat exhaust the tuner can increase the max boost.
