Default changing the maf sensor

afternoon people just wondering if tou can help .I am planning on changing the maf sensor on my 96 sti (big shout out to andy9577 for all the parts ) seems straightfoward eneough,but i have heard somewhere that i need to disconnect the battery for 30 mins afterwards to complete the job,is ths right?.any tips would be much appricated cheers kot

The 'disconnecting of the battery' bit is to reset the ecu (i think it needs to be left off for longer than 30 min). Better to do it the proper way. Do a search for the procedure with the green wires and black wires.

It's better to do it when changing the maf sensor.

yeah will do that as well guess ill leave battery disconnected for an hour should give it time
